Islamabad: On the occasion of Defence Day, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif delivered a video message underscoring the unity of the nation and the armed forces in safeguarding Pakistan’s geographical and ideological frontiers. The minister highlighted the indomitable spirit that the sacrifices of the armed forces have instilled in the country’s defense mechanisms.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Asif recalled the valor displayed during the 1965 conflict, emphasizing that the sacrifices of the martyrs have fortified Pakistan’s defenses against any threats. He further noted the ongoing efforts of the armed forces in combating terrorism, stressing their determination to eradicate this menace from Pakistani soil.
The Defence Minister also touched upon the situation in Kashmir, reiterating Pakistan’s support for the Kashmiri people’s struggle and the need to remember their plight on Defence Day. He articulated the nation’s awareness of external factors contributing to instability in the region and affirmed continued solidarity with the Kashmiri cause.
