Dar Advocates for Enhanced Pak-Oman Cooperation

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has called for a strategic and results-driven approach to strengthen ties between Pakistan and Oman. His remarks came during an inter-ministerial meeting aimed at finalizing Pakistan’s agenda for the eighth session of the Pakistan-Oman Joint Ministerial Commission, scheduled to take place in Islamabad next week.

The meeting focused on reviewing progress in critical areas of bilateral cooperation, with an emphasis on enhancing trade, investment, energy, manpower export, and maritime collaboration.

Dar highlighted the need for accelerating memorandums of understanding in key sectors. He also stressed the importance of expanding cooperation in education, logistics, and consular affairs to boost exports and create employment opportunities.

This call for deeper ties reflects the broader objective of fostering closer economic and diplomatic relations with Oman, a neighboring Gulf state. The upcoming session in Islamabad is expected to further these efforts by setting actionable goals for both nations.
