Danish Firm Eyes Long-Term Mineral Extraction Partnership in Pakistan

Islamabad: FLSmidth, a Danish company, has outlined plans for a long-term collaboration with Pakistan focused on mineral extraction, particularly in the Tethyan Metallogenic Belt in Balochistan, which is rich in crucial minerals necessary for the energy transition.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Mikko Keto, the CEO of FLSmidth, stated that the company is keen to leverage Pakistan’s substantial geological potential for a sustained partnership. He emphasized the importance of Balochistan’s mineral-rich regions, which are pivotal for accessing key resources used in various energy applications.

Keto expressed a commitment to sustainable practices in tapping these resources, aiming to establish a model of cooperation that benefits both Pakistan’s economy and the global environmental goals.
