Dalit Man Assaulted by Police in Madhya Pradesh, Sparking Outrage

Bhopal: A Dalit man, identified as Rohit Valmiki, was reportedly assaulted by police in Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh, raising serious concerns about ongoing caste-based discrimination and police brutality in the region.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Valmiki, who works as a sanitary worker, described being stopped and attacked by police officers after he overtook their vehicles on his motorcycle. He alleged that the officers accused him of reckless driving, subjected him to verbal abuse, and then physically assaulted him at a local police station.

The incident, confirmed by Valmiki’s brother, has ignited widespread criticism and highlighted the persistent issues faced by Dalit communities in BJP-governed areas, underlining the broader social challenges within Modi’s administration regarding police conduct and caste bias.
