Imphal, September 06, 2023 (PPI-OT): The full curfew continues on the second consecutive day, today, in the violence-hit Indian state of Manipur.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the curfew was imposed in five valley districts of Bishnupur, Kakching, Thoubal, Imphal West and Imphal East on Tuesday.
The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity and its women wing during the curfew stormed the Indian Army barricade at Phougakchao Ikhai in Bishnupur district, today.
It is to mention here that more than 160 people lost their lives and several hundreds have been injured since the ethnic clashes broke out in Manipur in early May after a Tribal Solidarity March was organised in the hill districts to protest against the demand of Meitei (predominantly Hindu) community for Scheduled Tribe (ST) status.
