Bagh: A cricket tournament was organized in Bagh, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, in memory of the late veteran Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, organized by the Chinar Cricket Council, the tournament saw participation from 12 teams comprised of refugees from occupied Jammu and Kashmir residing in Bagh. Among the competing teams was the Jammu and Kashmir Pir Panjal Freedom Movement team.
Azad Jammu and Kashmir government minister Sardar Mir Akbar Khan, along with Hurriyat AJK leader Qazi Imran and Raja Nisar Ahmed Shaikh, presented the trophy to the winning team and awarded prizes to players.
Speaking at the event, Sardar Mir Akbar and other speakers emphasized the importance of sports for a healthy lifestyle, noting that sports not only provide entertainment but also help keep individuals mentally and physically fit. They expressed gratitude to the Chinar Cricket Council for organizing the tournament in memory of Syed Ali Gilani.
