Crackdown on Electricity Theft Yields 122 Billion Rupees, Over 86,000 Arrests

Islamabad: The relentless effort by government agencies to curb electricity theft in the country has led to significant financial recoveries and numerous arrests. Since September last year, a substantial amount of 122.35 billion rupees has been recouped and over 86,000 suspects have been detained.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the crackdown has been instrumental in addressing the rampant issue of power pilferage across various regions. The actions taken have not only resulted in financial recuperation but also in the apprehension of thousands of individuals involved in these illegal activities.

This ongoing operation reflects the government’s firm commitment to eradicating the problem of electricity theft, which has been a significant drain on the nation’s resources.
