CPI-M Leader Tarigami Accuses BJP of Using Proxy Parties in Jammu and Kashmir Elections

Srinagar: Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, the leader of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), India’s ruling party, of resorting to proxy parties to maintain control in the forthcoming elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Tarigami asserted that these actions are a response to the BJP’s inability to address their alleged misdeeds in the region.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Tarigami delivered these remarks while campaigning in Kulgam. He criticized the BJP for what he described as significant wrongdoings that have left the party unable to justify their policies and actions in Jammu and Kashmir. “The BJP knows they will face tough questions for the harm they’ve caused to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, so they’re hiding behind proxy parties,” Tarigami stated. He emphasized that the local population would not be deceived by this tactic, recognizing these proxies as merely an extension of the BJP with the same detrimental intentions.

Tarigami further cautioned the electorate about the dangers of these proxy parties, likening them to a perilous new eagle replacing an old one, both posing a threat to the future of the region’s youth. He criticized the current government’s lack of constructive offerings, highlighting a pattern of unfulfilled promises and legal intimidations.
