CPEC’s Second Phase to Boost Pakistan’s Economy, Says Planning Minister Ahsan

Islamabad, Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal projected that the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will significantly boost Pakistan’s economy by enhancing infrastructure, innovation, agriculture, and livelihood sectors. Speaking to China Global Television Network (CGTN), he outlined ambitious plans to position Pakistan as a pivotal trade and business hub in the region.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Iqbal detailed that the forthcoming phase would expand cooperation particularly in industrial and agricultural sectors under the livelihood projects. He also discussed the innovation corridor, which aims to foster digital technology advancement, and the green corridor, which will facilitate Pakistan’s transition to renewable energy.

Addressing security concerns for Chinese nationals working on these projects in Pakistan, Iqbal reassured that extensive security measures are in place, involving military, police, and paramilitary forces dedicated solely to the protection of Chinese personnel. He celebrated the enduring Pak-China friendship, noting its consistent growth and mutual benefits over the past seventy years.
