Karachi, January 13, 2022 (PPI-OT):As many as two more patients of Coronavirus died overnight lifting the death toll to 7,693 and 2,289 new cases emerged when 12,229 tests were conducted. This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued here on Thursday.
He added that two more patient of COVID-19 lost his life lifting the death toll to 7,693 that constituted 1.6 percent death rate. Mr. Shah said that 12,229 samples were tested which detected 2,289 cases that constituted 18.7 percent current detection rate. He added that so far 7,307,649 tests have been conducted against which 492,574 cases were diagnosed, of them 95.3 percent or 469,506 patients have recovered, including 153 overnight.
The CM said that currently 15,375 patients were under treatment, of them 15,176 were in home isolation, 20 at isolation centers and 179 at different hospitals. He added that the condition of 172 patients was stated to be critical, including 14 shifted to ventilators.
According to the statement, out of 2,289 new cases, 2,009 have been detected from Karachi, including 792 from East, 501 South, 373 Central, 115 Malir, 95 West and Korangi 133. Hyderabad has 69, NausheroFeroze 24, Badin 21, Tando Muhammad Khan and Thatta 17 each, Matiari 12, Tando Allahyar and Jamshoro 11 each, Dadu and Sanghar eight each, Larkana and Tharparkar seven each, Umerkot and Shaheed Benazirabad six each, Khairpur four, Sukkur two and Ghotki one.
Vaccination: Sharing vaccination data the CM said that 31,121,341 vaccinations have been administered upto January 11th, and added during the last 24 hours 190,213 vaccines were inoculated – in total 31,311,554 vaccines have administered which constituted 56.64 percent of the vaccine eligible population. The chief minister urged people of the province to follow SOPs.
