COVID-19 claims six more patients, infects 343 others 

Karachi, October 28, 2021 (PPI-OT):As many as six more patients of Coronavirus died overnight lifting the death toll to 7,563 and 343 new cases emerged when 13,245 tests were conducted. This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued here on Thursday. He added that six more patients of COVID-19 lost their lives lifting the death toll to 7,563 that constituted 1.6 percent death rate. Mr. Shah said that 13,245 samples were tested which detected 343 cases that constituted 2.6 percent current detection rate.

He added that so far 6,374,344 tests have been conducted against which 468,140 cases were diagnosed, of them 95.9 percent or 449,003 patients have recovered, including 306 overnight. The CM said that currently 11,574 patients were under treatment, of them 11,330 were in home isolation, 25 at isolation centres and 219 at different hospitals. He added that the condition of 218 patients was stated to be critical, including 11 shifted to ventilators.

According to the statement, out of 343 new cases, 62 have been detected from Karachi, including 22 from East, 14 south, eight Korangi, 12 Central, and West six. Hyderabad has 57, Naushero Feroze 26, Mirpurkhas and Thatta 20 each, Shaheed Benazirabad 18, Tando Muhammad Khan 17, Sujawal 16, Badin 10, Larkana nine each, Sukkur eight, Dadu and Umerkot seven each, Ghotki six, Jacobabad and Shikarpur four each. The chief minister urged people of the province to follow SOPs.
