COVID-19 claims seven more lives, infects 2,153 others

Karachi, July 26, 2021 (PPI-OT):Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that as many as seven more patients of Coronavirus died overnight lifting the death toll to 5,840 and 2,153 new cases emerged when 16,975 tests were conducted. This he stated in a statement issued here on Monday. He added that seven more patients of COVID-19 lost their lives lifting the death toll to 5,840 that constituted 1.6 percent death rate.

Mr. Murad Ali Shah said that 16,975 samples were tested which detected 2,153 cases that constituted 12.7 percent current detection rate. He added that so far 4,908,697tests have been conducted against which 369,228 cases were diagnosed, of them 87.8 percent or 324,206 patients have recovered, including 621 overnight. The CM said that currently 39,182 patients were under treatment; of them 37,971 were in home isolation, 67 at isolation centres and 1,144 at different hospitals. He added that the condition of 1,024 patients was stated to be critical, including 77 shifted to ventilators.

According to the statement, out of 2,153 new cases, 1,732 have been detected from Karachi. According to the report Karachi South 537, Karachi East 520, Karachi Central 307, West 124, Malir 123, Karachi Korangi 121. Hyderabad has 149, Thatta 59, Naushero Feroze 30, Tharparkar 29, Sukkur 28, Sanghar 26, Badin 24, Tando Allahyar 20, Tando Muhammad Khan 19, Jamshoro seven, Khairpur, Mirpurkhas and Shaheed Benazirabad four each, Ghotki three, Larkana two and Shikarpur one. Murad Ali Shah urged people to abide by the SOPs issued by the government.
