COVID-19 claims one more patient, infects 197 others

Karachi, December 01, 2021 (PPI-OT):As many as one more patient of Coronavirus died overnight lifting the death toll to 7,622 and 197 new cases emerged when 12,443 tests were conducted. This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued here on Wednesday. He added that one more patient of COVID-19 lost his life lifting the death toll to 7,622 that constituted 1.6 percent death rate.

Mr. Shah said that 12,443 samples were tested which detected 197 cases that constituted 1.6 percent current detection rate. He added that so far 6,756,548 tests have been conducted against which 474,946 cases were diagnosed, of them 97 percent or 460,462 patients have recovered, including 35 overnight. The CM said that currently 6,862 patients were under treatment, of them 6,658 were in home isolation, 14 at isolation centres and 190 at different hospitals. He added that the condition of 185 patients was stated to be critical, including 16 shifted to ventilators.

According to the statement, out of 197 new cases, 40 have been detected from Karachi, including 18 from East, 10 South, 7 Central, 2 Malir and West each, 1 Korangi. Jamshoro has 22, Dadu 20, Sanghar 19, Thatta 17, Hyderabad 16, Mirpurkhas 13, Badin 10, Naushero Feroze 9, Tando Muhammad Khan 8, Umerkot 7, Tando Allahyar and Tharparkar 6 each, Larkana 3.

Vaccination: Sharing vaccination data the CM said that 24,136,080 vaccinations have been administered upto November 29th, and added during the last 24 hours 74,086 vaccines were inoculated – in total 24,210,166 vaccines have administered which constituted 44.98 percent of the vaccine eligible population. The chief minister urged people of the province to follow SOPs.
