Karachi, October 22, 2021 (PPI-OT):As many as one more patient of Coronavirus died overnight lifting the death toll to 7,540 and 197 new cases emerged when 9,270 tests were conducted. This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued here on Friday. He added that one more patient of COVID-19 lost their lives lifting the death toll to 7,540 that constituted 1.6 percent death rate.
Mr. Shah said that 9,270 samples were tested which detected 197 cases that constituted 2.1 percent current detection rate. He added that so far 6,288,528 tests have been conducted against which 466,199 cases were diagnosed, of them 96 percent or 447,256 patients have recovered, including 232 overnight.
The CM said that currently 11,403 patients were under treatment, of them 11,144 were in home isolation, 29 at isolation centers and 230 at different hospitals. He added that the condition of 228 patients was stated to be critical, including 16 shifted to ventilators.
According to the statement, out of 197 new cases, 91 have been detected from Karachi, including 40 from East, South, Korangi and Central 14 each, 5 West, 4 Malir. Larkana has 20, Tharparkar 16, Hyderabad and Tando Allahyar 15 each, Mirpurkhas 14, NausheroFeroze 12, Badin, Shaheed Benazirabad and Shikarpur two each, Dadu, Sanghar and Sukkur one each. The chief minister urged people of the province to follow SOPs.
