Karachi, October 13, 2021 (PPI-OT): As many as nine more patients of Coronavirus died overnight lifting the death toll to 7,514 and 431 new cases emerged when 12,888 tests were conducted. This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued here on Wednesday. He added that nine more patients of COVID-19 lost their lives lifting the death toll to 7,514 that constituted 1.6 percent death rate.
Mr. Shah said that 12,888 samples were tested which detected 431 cases that constituted 3.3 percent current detection rate. He added that so far 6,171,102 tests have been conducted against which 463,248 cases were diagnosed, of them 93.7 percent or 434,247 patients have recovered, including 341 overnight. The CM said that currently 21,487 patients were under treatment, of them 21,193 were in home isolation, 30 at isolation centres and 264 at different hospitals. He added that the condition of 261 patients was stated to be critical, including 21 shifted to ventilators.
According to the statement, out of 431 new cases, 140 have been detected from Karachi, including 54 each from South, 44 East, Korangi 21, Malir 12, Central six and West three. Hyderabad has 77, Kashmore 24, Larkana 19, Sanghar 17, Tharparkar 15, Shikarpur and Dadu 14 each, Naushero Feroze and Sujawal 12 each, Mirpurkhas 11, Tando Allahyar and Jacobabad ten each, Jamshoro and Sukkur eight each, Matiari and Umerkot six each, Khairpur five, Ghotki four, Badin three, Shaheed Benazirabad two. The chief minister urged people of the province to follow SOPs.
