COVID-19 claims four more patients, infects 300 others 

Karachi, December 30, 2021 (PPI-OT):As many as four more patients of Coronavirus died overnight lifting the death toll to 7,670 and 300 new cases emerged when 13,232 tests were conducted. This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued here on Thursday. He added that four more patients of COVID-19 lost their lives, lifting the death toll to 7,670 that constituted 1.6 percent death rate.

Mr. Shah said that 13,232 samples were tested which detected 300 cases that constituted 2.3 percent current detection rate. He added that so far 7,115,713 tests have been conducted against which 480,511 cases were diagnosed, of them 97.3 percent or 467,643 patients have recovered, including 278 overnight. The CM said that currently 5,198 patients were under treatment, of them 5,024 were in home isolation, 37 at isolation centres and 137 at different hospitals. He added that the condition of 135 patients was stated to be critical, including 18 shifted to ventilators.

According to the statement, out of 300 new cases, 193 have been detected from Karachi, including 100 from East, 63 South, 10 West, Korangi and Central eight each, and Malir four. Hyderabad has 17, Shaheed Benazirabad 16, Matiari and Tharparkar 12 each, Sujawal and Thatta ten each, Ghotki five, Larkana four, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Sukkur and Tando Allahyar three each, Sanghar and Mirpurkhas two each, Dadu, Jamshoro and Naushero Feroze one each.

Vaccination: Sharing vaccination data the CM said that 28,839,411 vaccinations have been administered upto December 28th, and added during the last 24 hours 231,869 vaccines were inoculated – in total 29,071,280 vaccines have administered which constituted 52.73 percent of the vaccine eligible population. The chief minister urged people of the province to follow SOPs.
