Karachi, October 09, 2021 (PPI-OT): As many as four more patients of Coronavirus died overnight lifting the death toll to 7,484 and 163 new cases emerged when 4,323 tests were conducted. This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued here on Saturday. He added that four more patients of COVID-19 lost their lives lifting the death toll to 7,484 that constituted 1.6 percent death rate. Mr. Shah said that 4,323 samples were tested which detected 163 cases that constituted 3.8 percent current detection rate.
He added that so far 6,127,751 tests have been conducted against which 461,587 cases were diagnosed, of them 93.8 percent or 432,784 patients have recovered, including 212 overnight. The CM said that currently 21,319 patients were under treatment, of them 21,010 were in home isolation, 29 at isolation centres and 280 at different hospitals. He added that the condition of 276 patients was stated to be critical, including 19 shifted to ventilators.
According to the statement, out of 163 new cases, 87 have been detected from Karachi, including 48 from East, South 12, Korangi 11, Malir seven and Central six and West three. Tharparkar 23, Tando Muhammad Khan 13, Umerkot nine, Hyderabad eight, Badin four, Khairpur three, Larkana two, Jamshoro, Kashmore, Mirpurkhas and Sanghar one each. The chief minister urged people of the province to follow SOPs.
