Karachi, November 03, 2021 (PPI-OT):As many as eight more patients of Coronavirus died overnight lifting the death toll to 7,579 and 284 new cases emerged when 12,816 tests were conducted. This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued here on Wednesday. He added that eight more patients of COVID-19 lost their lives lifting the death toll to 7,579 that constituted 1.6 percent death rate.
Mr. Shah said that 12,816 samples were tested which detected 284 cases that constituted 2.2 percent current detection rate. He added that so far 6,455,725 tests have been conducted against which 469,969 cases were diagnosed, of them 95.9 percent or 450,486 patients have recovered, including 292 overnight. The CM said that currently 11,904 patients were under treatment, of them 11,679 were in home isolation, 24 at isolation centres and 201 at different hospitals. He added that the condition of 201 patients was stated to be critical, including 12 shifted to ventilators.
According to the statement, out of 284 new cases, 64 have been detected from Karachi, including 21 from South, Korangi and East 19 each, Central 4 and West 1. Qamber has 28, Hyderabad 27, Jamshoro 25, Naushero Feroze 19, Dadu and Tando Muhammad khan 13 each, Shaheed Benazirabad and Mirpurkhas 12 each, Tharparkar 11, Thatta and Sanghar 10 each, Badin and Tando Allahyar eight each, Larkana seven, Matiari and Umerkot six each. The chief minister urged people of the province to follow SOPs.
