Karachi, October 23, 2021 (PPI-OT):As many as eight more patients of Coronavirus died overnight lifting the death toll to 7,548 and 283 new cases emerged when 11,975 tests were conducted. This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued here on Saturday. He added that eight more patients of COVID-19 lost their lives lifting the death toll to 7,548 that constituted 1.6 percent death rate.
Mr. Shah said that 11,975 samples were tested which detected 283 cases that constituted 2.4 percent current detection rate. He added that so far 6,300,503 tests have been conducted against which 466,482 cases were diagnosed, of them 96 percent or 447,432 patients have recovered, including 176 overnight. The CM said that currently 11,502 patients were under treatment, of them 11,243 were in home isolation, 29 at isolation centres and 230 at different hospitals. He added that the condition of 228 patients was stated to be critical, including 16 shifted to ventilators.
According to the statement, out of 283 new cases, 67 have been detected from Karachi, including 27 from East, South 16, Malir 8, Central 7, Korangi 5 and 4 west. Shaheed Benazirabad 32, Jamshoro 24, Naushero Feroze 18, Sanghar 16, Hyderabad, Sujawal and Tharparkar 15 each, Matiari 14, Tando Allahyar 12, Shikarpur 10, Mirpurkhas nine, Jacobabad and Larkana six each and Sukkur one. The chief minister urged people of the province to follow SOPs.
