Karachi, February 18, 2022 (PPI-OT):As many as 7 more patients of Coronavirus died overnight lifting the death toll to 8,020 and 690 new cases emerged when 11,469 tests were conducted. This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued here on Friday. He added that 7 more patients of COVID-19 lost their lives lifting the death toll to 8,020 that constituted 1.4 percent death rate.
Mr. Shah said that 11,469 samples were tested which detected 690 cases that constituted 6 percent current detection rate. He added that so far 7,816,136 tests have been conducted against which 560,238 cases were diagnosed, of them 90. 7 percent or 508,205 patients have recovered, including 646 overnight. The CM said that currently 44,013 patients were under treatment, of them 43,752 were in home isolation, 20 at isolation centers and 241 at different hospitals. He added that the condition of 244 patients was stated to be critical, including 17 shifted to ventilators.
According to the statement, out of 690 new cases, 219 have been detected from Karachi, including 60 from Korangi, 53 Malir, 50 South, 40 East, 10 West and 6 Central. Hyderabad has 301, Tharparkar 27, Tando Muhammad Khan 17, Larkana and Malir 15 each, Jamshoro 13, Thatta 12, Matiari 10, Tando Allahyar 9, Sanghar 8, Badin and Sujawal 7 each, Umerkot 6, Khairpur 5, Ghotki, Naushero Feroze, Shaheed Benazirabad and Kamber 3 each and Dadu 2.
Vaccination: Sharing vaccination data the CM said that 45,074,644 vaccinations have been administered upto February 16th, and added during the last 24 hours 340,894 vaccines were inoculated – in total 45,415,538 vaccines have administered which constituted 84.08 percent of the vaccine eligible population. The chief minister urged people of the province to follow SOPs.
