Karachi, October 18, 2021 (PPI-OT):As many as 3 more patients of Coronavirus died overnight lifting the death toll to 7,533 and 329 new cases emerged when 13,118 tests were conducted. This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued here on Monday. He added that 3 more patients of COVID-19 lost their lives lifting the death toll to 7,533 that constituted 1.6 percent death rate.
Mr. Shah said that 13,118 samples were tested which detected 329 cases that constituted 2.5 percent current detection rate. He added that so far 6,244,705 tests have been conducted against which 465,225 cases were diagnosed, of them 96 percent or 446,535 patients have recovered, including 135 overnight. The CM said that currently 11,157 patients were under treatment, of them 10,886 were in home isolation, 28 at isolation centres and 243 at different hospitals. He added that the condition of 240 patients was stated to be critical, including 15 shifted to ventilators.
According to the statement, out of 329 new cases, 48 have been detected from Karachi, including 23 from East, 12 South, 5 Korangi, 4 Malir, 3 Central and 1 West. Thatta and Matiari have 36 each, Hyderabad and Naushero Feroze 26 each, Badin 25, Shaheed Benazirabad 21, Tharparkar 17, Sanghar and Sukkur 11 each, Jacobabad and Shikarpur 10 each, Khairpur 9, Ghotki 8, Tando Allahyar and Umerkot 7 each, Larkana and Mirpurkhas 6 each, Tando Muhammad Khan 4 and Dadu 3. The chief minister urged people of the province to follow SOPs.
