Karachi, December 07, 2021 (PPI-OT):As many as 3 more patients of Coronavirus died overnight lifting the death toll to 7,630 and 158 new cases emerged when 10,855 tests were conducted. This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued here on Tuesday. He added that 3 more patients of COVID-19 lost their lives lifting the death toll to 7,630 that constituted 1.6 percent death rate.
Mr. Shah said that 10,855 samples were tested which detected 158 cases that constituted 1.5 percent current detection rate. He added that so far 6,827,535 tests have been conducted against which 476,038 cases were diagnosed, of them 97.2 percent or 462,965 patients have recovered, including 142 overnight. The CM said that currently 5,443 patients were under treatment, of them 5,279 were in home isolation, 17 at isolation centers and 147 at different hospitals. He added that the condition of 144 patients was stated to be critical, including 11 shifted to ventilators.
According to the statement, out of 158 new cases, 31 have been detected from Karachi, including 15 from Korangi, 7 East, 4 South, 2 West and Central each and 1 Korangi. Dadu has 30, Shaheed Benazirabad and Sujawal 15 each, Naushero Feroze and Thatta 12 each, Hyderabad and Jamshoro 10 each, Tharparkar 6, Sanghar 5, Badin 4, Umerkot 3, Khairpur and Tando Muhammad Khan 2 each, Mirpurkhas 1.
Vaccination: Sharing vaccination data the CM said that 24,866,366 vaccinations have been administered upto December 5th, and added during the last 24 hours 148,600 vaccines were inoculated – in total 25,014,966 vaccines have administered which constituted 46.12 percent of the vaccine eligible population. The chief minister urged people of the province to follow SOPs.
