Karachi, February 08, 2022 (PPI-OT):As many as 21 more patients of Coronavirus died overnight lifting the death toll to 7,927 and 900 new cases emerged when 10,567 tests were conducted. This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued here on Tuesday. He added that 21 more patients of COVID-19 lost their lives lifting the death toll to 7,927 that constituted 1.5 percent death rate.
Mr. Shah said that 10,567samples were tested which detected 900 cases that constituted 8.5 percent current detection rate. He added that so far 7,688,517 tests have been conducted against which 551,125 cases were diagnosed, of them 91 percent or 501,625 patients have recovered, including 663 overnight.
The CM said that currently 41,573 patients were under treatment, of them 41,167 were in home isolation, 40 at isolation centres and 366 at different hospitals. He added that the condition of 337 patients was stated to be critical, including 29 shifted to ventilators.
According to the statement, out of 900 new cases, 530 have been detected from Karachi, including 235 from Malir, 105 East, 86 South, 47 Korangi, 39 Central and 18 West. Hyderabad has 132, Matiari 26, Khairpur 25, Tando Muhammad Khan 17, Sujawal 16, Thatta 13, Dadu and Sukkur 12 each, Jamshoro and Umerkot 11 each, Jacobabad and Naushero Feroze 10 each, Badin and Shikarpur 9 each, Sanghar 8, Mirpurkhas 7, Ghotki and Tando Allahyar 6 each, Kashmore, Shaheed Benazirabad and Larkana 2 each.
Vaccination: Sharing vaccination data the CM said that 37,963,569 vaccinations have been administered upto February 6nd, and added during the last 24 hours 720,095 vaccines were inoculated – in total 38,683,664 vaccines have administered which constituted 71.53 percent of the vaccine eligible population. The chief minister urged people of the province to follow SOPs.
