Karachi, July 24, 2021 (PPI-OT):As many as 24 more patients of Coronavirus died overnight lifting the death toll to 5,814 and 1,683 new cases emerged when 16,156 tests were conducted. This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued here on Saturday. He added that 24 more patients of COVID-19 lost their lives lifting the death toll to 5,814 that constituted 1.6 percent death rate. Mr. Shah said that 16,156 samples were tested which detected 1,683 cases that constituted 10.4 percent current detection rate.
He added that so far 4,873,600 tests have been conducted against which 364,767 cases were diagnosed, of them 88.5 percent or 322,786 patients have recovered, including 368 overnight. The CM said that currently 36,167 patients were under treatment, of them 34,957 were in home isolation, 69 at isolation centers and 1,141 at different hospitals. He added that the condition of 1008 patients was stated to be critical, including 81 shifted to ventilators.
According to the statement, out of 1,683 new cases, 1447 have been detected from Karachi, including 566 from East, 338 South, 273 Central, 111 Malir, 105 Korangi, and 54 West. Hyderabad has 51, Shaheed Benazirabad 19, Jamshoro 17, Badin and Tando Allahyar 15 each, Tharparkar 12, Mirpurkhas and Umerkot 10 each, Sujawal 9, Sukkur and Khairpur 6 each, Dadu, Thatta and Tando Muhammad Khan 7 each, Sanghar 4, Nausheroferoze and Ghotki 3 each, Kashmore and Larkana 2 each, Matiari and Shikarpur 1 each. Murad Ali Shah urged people to abide by the SOPs issued by the government.
