Karachi, February 03, 2022 (PPI-OT):As many as 20 more patients of Coronavirus died overnight lifting the death toll to 7,869 and 1,733 new cases emerged when 15,863 tests were conducted. This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued here on Thursday. He added that 20 more patients of COVID-19 lost their lives lifting the death toll to 7,869 that constituted 1.5 percent death rate. Syed Murad Ali Shah said that 13,863 samples were tested which detected 1,733 cases that constituted 11 percent current detection rate.
He added that so far 7,622,628 tests have been conducted against which 545,248 cases were diagnosed, of them 89.9 percent or 490,270 patients have recovered, including 447 overnight. The CM said that currently 47,109 patients were under treatment; of them 46,648 were in home isolation, 43 at isolation centres and 418 at different hospitals. He added that the condition of 380 patients was stated to be critical, including 41 shifted to ventilators.
According to the statement, out of 1,733 new cases, 1028 have been detected from Karachi, including 274 from East, 252 Malir, 170 South, 168 West, 113 Korangi and 51 Central. Hyderabad has 357, Jamshoro 45, Sukkur 33, Tharparkar 29, Matiari 27, Sujawal 25, Mirpurkhas 23, Tando Muhammad Khan 21, Badin 20, Sanghar 19, Tando Allahyar and Umerkot 18 each, Khairpur 15, Ghotki 14, Larkana 13, Thatta six, Shikarpur five, Kashmore, Naushero Feroze and Shaheed Benazirabad two each and Dadu one.
Vaccination: Sharing vaccination data the CM said that 35,102,115 vaccinations have been administered upto February 01st, and added during the last 24 hours 491,168 vaccines were inoculated – in total 35,593,283 vaccines have administered which constituted 65.27 percent of the vaccine eligible population. The chief minister urged people of the province to follow SOPs.
