Karachi, November 18, 2021 (PPI-OT):As many as two more patients of Coronavirus died overnight lifting the death toll to 7,611 and 206 new cases emerged when 13,127 tests were conducted. This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued here on Thursday. He added that two more patients of COVID-19 lost their lives lifting the death toll to 7,611 that constituted 1.6 percent death rate.
Mr. Shah said that 13,127 samples were tested which detected 206 cases that constituted 1.6 percent current detection rate. He added that so far 6,611,043 tests have been conducted against which 472,715 cases were diagnosed, of them 95.7 percent or 452,621 patients have recovered, including 102 overnight. The CM said that currently 12,483 patients were under treatment, of them 12,262 were in home isolation, 22 at isolation centers and 199 at different hospitals. He added that the condition of 198 patients was stated to be critical, including 13 shifted to ventilators.
According to the statement, out of 206 new cases, 31 have been detected from Karachi, including 15 from East, 6 South, 4 Korangi, 3 West, 2 Central and 1 Malir. Hyderabad has 41, Sujawal 17, Badin and Matiari 14 each, Sanghar 13, Mirpurkhas 12, Naushero Feroze and Shaheed Benazirabad 10 each, Jamshoro 9, Tharparkar 8, Umerkot 7, Larkana and Tando Allahyar 6 each, Tando Muhammad Khan 4, Kamber 2, Jacobabad and Sukkur 1 each. The chief minister urged people of the province to follow SOPs.
