Karachi, February 11, 2022 (PPI-OT): As many as 13 more patients of Coronavirus died overnight lifting the death toll to 7,971 and 852 new cases emerged when 13,866 tests were conducted. This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued here on Friday. He added that 13 more patients of COVID-19 lost their lives lifting the death toll to 7,971 that constituted 1.4 percent death rate.
Mr. Shah said that 13,866 samples were tested which detected 852 cases that constituted 6.1 percent current detection rate. He added that so far 7,726,047 tests have been conducted against which 553,821 cases were diagnosed, of them 91 percent or 503,880 patients have recovered, including 934 overnight. The CM said that currently 41,970 patients were under treatment, of them 41,635 were in home isolation, 30 at isolation centres and 305 at different hospitals. He added that the condition of 275 patients was stated to be critical, including 19 shifted to ventilators.
According to the statement, out of 852 new cases, 388 have been detected from Karachi, including 134 from Malir, 75 West, 72 South, 49 East, 48 Korangi, and 10 Central. Hyderabad has 243, Badin 23, Thatta 22, Tharparkar 19, Larkana and Sujawal 17 each, Sukkur and Tando Allahyar 16 each, Jamshoro and Umerkot 11 each, Ghotki, Shikarpur and Sanghar 10 each, Tando Muhammad Khan 8, Mirpurkhas 7, Kashmore 6, Khairpur 5, Jacobabad and Matiari 3 each and Shaheed Benazirabad 1.
Vaccination: Sharing vaccination data the CM said that 40,155,002 vaccinations have been administered upto February 9th, and added during the last 24 hours 835,393 vaccines were inoculated – in total 40,990,395 vaccines have administered which constituted 75.93 percent of the vaccine eligible population. The chief minister urged people of the province to follow SOPs.
