Corruption cases up in IIOJK, 94 cases filed in 2021: Report 

Srinagar, September 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, corruption cases have seen an increase with 94 cases filed under prevention of corruption and related sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC) last year. The Indian Crime Records Bureau reported that 82 corruption cases were filed in 2018, 73 in 2019 and 71 in 2020 but the cases jumped to 94 in 2021, reflecting an upward trend in graft cases.

The data said that under action taken by the court, 384 persons have been arrested in IIOJK, 342 persons charge-sheeted, three persons convicted and 18 acquitted. Under departmental action, no person has been dismissed from service on corruption charges in the territory while just three persons were imprisoned or awarded major punishment, it said.
