Corps Commanders’ Conference Expresses Strong Resolve Against Terrorism

Islamabad, 17 Oct 2023:In the 260th Corps Commanders’ Conference at the GHQ in Rawalpindi, military leaders underlined their unwavering commitment to confronting and eradicating terrorism. Presided over by Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, the forum reiterated that terrorists, along with their facilitators and supporters, will be dealt with firmly. The meeting acknowledged the sacrifices of security forces and law enforcement agencies, particularly reflecting on the events in Mastung, Hangu, and Zhob.

The attendees were briefed on the current geo-strategic environment, challenges to national security, and strategies for threat mitigation. The Army expressed support for the government’s strategic economic initiatives and committed to aiding in the crackdown against illegal economic activities.

General Syed Asim Munir further emphasized the army’s role in facilitating the repatriation of all illegal foreigners, starting from next month. Concerning international affairs, the Army Chief voiced Pakistan’s steadfast support for the Palestinian cause, particularly in the wake of recent developments in the Gaza-Israel conflict.
