Continued Repatriation of Afghan Nationals from Pakistan

Islamabad: Pakistan’s ongoing effort to repatriate Afghan nationals residing in the country without legal permission has resulted in significant numbers returning to Afghanistan.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, since the initiation of the repatriation program, a total of 691,853 Afghan nationals have returned to their homeland. In the most recent phase, from July 21 to August 17, approximately 32,200 Afghans, including 11,826 men, 9,320 women, and 11,054 children, were transported back to Afghanistan across 674 vehicles.

This movement reflects Pakistan’s broader policy efforts to regulate the presence of foreign nationals and underscores the ongoing humanitarian and logistical challenges associated with such large-scale repatriation operations.
