Islamabad, The National Weather Forecasting Centre in Islamabad reports that continental air is currently prevailing over most parts of Pakistan, leading to predominantly cold and dry weather conditions across the country.
According to National Weather Forecasting Centre – Islamabad, the weather on Wednesday is expected to remain mainly cold and dry in most areas, with very cold and partly cloudy conditions in the upper parts of the country. Fog and smog are likely to persist in upper Sindh, as well as the plain areas of Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
The forecast for Thursday indicates a similar weather pattern, with cold and dry conditions in most regions and very cold, partly cloudy weather in the northern areas. The fog and smog situation is expected to continue in the aforementioned regions during the morning and night hours.
Over the past 24 hours, most parts of the country experienced cold and dry weather, with notably lower temperatures in the northern areas. The recorded lowest minimum temperatures include Leh at -11°C, Skardu at -08°C, Astore at -06°C, and Kalam and Gupis at -05°C. Gilgit, Kalat, and Srinagar also recorded chilly temperatures at -04°C.
These weather conditions highlight the influence of continental air over Pakistan, bringing about a significant drop in temperatures and dry weather patterns across various regions.
