Continental Air Dominates Weather Across the Country; Cold and Dry Conditions Expected

Islamabad, Most parts of the country are currently experiencing cold and dry weather conditions due to the prevailing continental air, as reported by the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Islamabad. A shallow westerly wave has also been observed over northwest Balochistan, contributing to the current weather pattern.

According to National Weather Forecasting Centre – Islamabad, the weather on Wednesday is expected to remain mainly cold and dry in most regions. However, there is a likelihood of smog and fog during the night hours in the plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh. The forecast for Thursday remains similar, with cold and dry conditions anticipated across most parts of the country. Additionally, smog and fog are again expected in the same regions during the morning and night.

The past 24 hours have seen a continuation of the cold and dry weather across the majority of the country. The recorded lowest minimum temperatures have been notably low in several areas. Leh experienced the coldest temperature at -10°C, followed by Skardu at -07°C. Other regions, including Gilgit, Gupis, Astore, Pulwama, Kalam, Anantnag, Baramulla, Hunza, Kalat, Srinagar, and Shopiyan, also recorded low temperatures ranging from -02°C to -04°C.
