This weather pattern is leading to predominantly cold and dry conditions across the nation, with particularly intense cold in the northern areas.
According to National Weather Forecasting Centre – Islamabad, the synoptic situation indicates a continuation of the cold and dry weather trend for most parts of Pakistan on Thursday. The upper parts of the country are expected to experience very cold and dry conditions. Additionally, fog and smog are likely to persist during the night hours in the upper regions of Sindh, as well as in the plain areas of Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
For Friday, the forecast remains similar, with mainly cold and dry weather expected in most parts of the country. The upper regions will face very cold temperatures, but with partly cloudy skies. The fog and smog conditions are predicted to continue during the morning and night hours in the same regions as Thursday.
The past 24 hours have seen cold and dry weather prevailing over most parts of Pakistan, with the northern areas experiencing particularly low temperatures. The recorded lowest minimum temperatures today included -10°C in Leh, -07°C in Skardu, -06°C in Gilgit, and -05°C in Astore, Kalat, and Gupis.
