Dubai: H.E. Hussain Muhammad, Consul General of Pakistan in Dubai, underscored the significance of remittances and the contributions made by overseas Pakistanis during an event organized by Index Exchange. The event, held in Dubai, launched the company’s upcoming Eid Al Adha Campaign, which is designed to encourage formal remittance flows.
According to Press Information Department, the Consul General praised Index Exchange for organizing the event and providing a platform to discuss ways to enhance, optimize, and secure remittance flows for the benefit of both senders and recipients. He emphasized the role of the Pakistani diaspora in the UAE as an essential component of national strength, highlighting their contributions to both the host country’s development and Pakistan’s economy.
The Consul General noted that recent remittance inflows demonstrate the diaspora’s steadfast commitment. He stressed the importance of promoting formal, secure, and efficient remittance channels, mentioning the Consulate’s regular engagement with the community, including visits to labor camps, to promote the use of legal remittance avenues.
He also discussed government initiatives such as the Roshan Digital Accounts, which offer overseas Pakistanis streamlined banking solutions. He emphasized the need for sustained collective efforts to strengthen remittance systems and maximize their economic contributions.
Mr. Ali Zeb Khan, Trade and Investment Counsellor, highlighted the importance of initiatives that enhance remittance inflows and promote investment and economic growth avenues. Mr. Humayun Murad, Executive Director, and Syed Abdul Salam, Chief Operating Officer of Index Exchange, presented the organization’s ongoing campaigns to encourage formal remittance flows and support sustainable initiatives.
The event was attended by members of the Pakistani business community and distinguished guests from various parts of the UAE.
