Jammu, The Srinagar-Jammu Highway, a vital link connecting the regions of Jammu and Kashmir, will experience a full traffic suspension today due to ongoing construction activities in the Ramban district.
According to the Kashmir Media Service, the stoppage has been announced to facilitate safe ongoing construction at the Nashri viaduct, a critical infrastructure project in the region. This decision has been made to ensure the safety of the commuters during the launching of girders at the viaduct site.
An official order from the Jammu and Kashmir traffic police clearly states that no vehicles will be allowed to traverse from Qazigund in the direction of Jammu or from Udhampur towards Srinagar for the entire duration of the construction work.
The closure of this main highway is expected to significantly affect travel and transportation between the two cities, and commuters are advised to plan accordingly.
