This criticism follows the tragic death of a Dalit teenager due to gunshot wounds incurred during a violent clash related to the installation of a hoarding featuring Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident that sparked the outcry involved Sumesh Kumar, a 17-year-old student who was fatally shot as he returned home from a Class 10 examination. The clash also resulted in injuries to two other individuals. The Congress party, through general secretary Jairam Ramesh, has condemned the Yogi-led administration for what it describes as a “jungle raj,” where unchecked violence and discrimination against Dalits have become increasingly common.

Ramesh’s statements reflect a broader concern within the Congress party regarding the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh, highlighting what they perceive as rampant lawlessness and ineffective governance.
