Congress Criticizes BJP’s Governance in IIOJK, Calls for Assembly Elections

Jammu, The Indian National Congress has leveled criticism against the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) administration in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu Kashmir (IIOJK), declaring the New Delhi-installed regime a comprehensive failure in addressing the needs of the territory’s populace. The Congress party asserts that the local government has faltered in every aspect of governance, leaving residents without support.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the critique was voiced by Yash Paul Kundal, the vice president of the IIOJK Congress chapter, during a public gathering in the Nud area of Samba. Kundal highlighted the inadequacies of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s administration, emphasizing the widespread neglect and hardship faced by the common people under the BJP’s proxy rule. Furthermore, Kundal condemned the Modi government’s refusal to conduct assembly elections in the region, interpreting it as a disregard for democratic processes.

Adding to the criticism, Sanjav Sharma, the Congress Samba district president, articulated the disillusionment of the Jammu region’s populace with the BJP. He accused the party of failing to fulfill its promises, instead resorting to rhetoric and false narratives for electoral gains. Sharma also suggested that the BJP’s reluctance to hold elections stems from a fear of electoral defeat, accusing the government of employing delay tactics to postpone the inevitable reckoning with the electorate’s dissatisfaction.

The Congress party’s condemnation underscores the growing discontent with the BJP’s governance in IIOJK, highlighting the urgent need for political reform and the restoration of democratic rights in the region.
