Jammu: The Congress in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir has launched a sharp critique against the BJP-led government, accusing it of exploitative practices under the guise of development. The opposition party claims that fundamental issues facing the populace are being ignored.
According to Kashmir Media Service, IIOJK Congress General Secretary Taranjit Singh Tony, during a meeting in Jammu, articulated that the Indian government’s actions favor mafias over the local needs. “The government is more focused on exploiting the people in the guise of development, while failing to address their basic needs,” Tony elaborated.
He outlined that the BJP is safeguarding the interests of land, liquor, and contractor mafias, primarily non-local, while local concerns, particularly employment for the youth, remain unaddressed due to repeated cancellations of recruitment exams. Tony criticized the installation of Smart Meters as another strategy to drain the resources of IIOJK’s residents, neglecting essential infrastructure improvements like functional drainage systems.
The Congress leader concluded by calling for public support in the upcoming Assembly elections, promising a government free from mafia influences.
