Congress Accuses BJP of Disrupting Campaign in Kathua

Jammu: The Congress Party has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of sabotaging its electoral campaign in Kathua, specifically alleging interference with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s scheduled rally.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Priyanka Gandhi was set to speak at rallies in Billawar and Bishnah, both located in the Jammu region. However, complications with her chopper’s landing permissions prevented her appearance in Billawar, where she was expected to support the local Congress candidate, Dr. Manohar Lal.

The Congress also highlighted issues faced by Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition, whose travel plans were disrupted due to technical problems with his helicopter last Friday, preventing him from attending scheduled rallies in Chhamb and Ramgarh.

Ravinder Sharma, Chief Spokesperson for the Indian National Congress in the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, criticized the local administration for their handling of the logistics, stating that the designated landing area for Priyanka Gandhi’s chopper was impractically located over 35 kilometers away from the rally venue in an isolated area.

Sharma has called for an investigation into these incidents and has urged the Election Commission to ensure fair electoral processes. He described the situation as a blatant act of sabotage by the administration, aimed at hindering the Congress campaign.
