Concrete Evidence Unveiled of Raoof Hasan’s Alleged Connections with India

Islamabad: New revelations have surfaced detailing the alleged communications between Raoof Hasan, PTI Secretary General, and Indian journalist Karan Thapar, which purportedly show Hasan facilitating narratives against the state of Pakistan.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, evidence indicates a collaboration between foreign lobbies and Hasan aimed at undermining Pakistan’s national interests. Detailed reports suggest that Hasan, serving as the media coordinator for PTI, initiated contact with Thapar in November 2022 to discuss a potential interview with PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi.

Further interactions between Hasan and Thapar revealed exchanges of sensitive information, with Hasan allegedly critiquing Pakistan’s military leadership and policies. Notably, on November 24, 2022, Thapar shared a YouTube interview with Rana Banerjee, former Secretary of RAW, where discussions reportedly described the Pakistani Army Chief as a hardliner towards India. Subsequent exchanges included critiques of a Pakistani journalist’s interview with the Army Chief, with Hasan labeling the journalist as unreliable and sharing his views on the military’s internal movements.

In early 2023, Hasan’s messages to Thapar reportedly continued to disclose sensitive national positions, including Pakistan’s stance on the Ukraine crisis, which Hasan opposed, favoring India’s neutral position. In March 2023, Hasan’s comments escalated to describe the internal security measures in Pakistan as indications of an undeclared martial law, suggesting a state of severe unrest.

Defence analysts have expressed concerns that these communications, particularly Hasan’s sharing of sensitive national information and his negative portrayal of state actions, might have served as valuable intelligence for Indian interests.

The Ministry has highlighted the gravity of these allegations, suggesting that Hasan’s actions, if confirmed, could constitute a significant breach of national security, advocating for thorough investigations into these communications to assess their impact on Pakistan’s national security.
