Concerns Raised Over Yasin Malik’s Safety Amid Modi’s Electoral Strategies

Islamabad, On the eve of Kashmir Solidarity Day, Mushaal Hussein Mullick, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Human Rights and Women Empowerment, alongside leaders from the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHCAJK), voiced their unwavering support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The collective emphasized the ongoing struggle against Indian occupation and the challenges it presents to the region’s peace and stability.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the press conference saw prominent figures such as Mehmood Ahmad Saghar, Farooq Rehmani, Ghulam Muhammad Safi, and Shaikh Abdul Mateen unite in solidarity with Kashmir. They highlighted the oppressive measures imposed by the Indian government, drawing comparisons between the situations in Kashmir and Palestine and labeling the Indian and Israeli regimes as threats to global peace.

Mushaal specifically raised concerns over the wellbeing of her husband, Mohammad Yasin Malik, a noted Kashmiri activist currently imprisoned. She suggested that Malik might be used as a political scapegoat in the context of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s election strategy, a move that could further inflame tensions in the region.

The press conference also addressed India’s attempts to alter the demographic makeup of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and accused the Indian government of fostering acts of terrorism within Pakistan. The call for international intervention underscored the urgency of the situation, pointing to the need for a global response to India’s actions and the expansion of the RSS terror network.

Mushaal announced the creation of the Kashmir Consultative Committee and detailed collaborative efforts with the Higher Education Commission aimed at raising awareness about the Kashmir issue. These initiatives are part of a broader strategy to mobilize support for Kashmir’s right to self-determination and to highlight the human rights abuses faced by its people.

This press conference reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting the Kashmiri cause and called for heightened international awareness and intervention to address the ongoing crisis in IIOJK.
