Concerns Arise Over Removal of Muslim Voters from Electoral Rolls in India

New Delhi, Reports of systematic deletions of Muslim voters from electoral rolls in various Indian states have sparked widespread concern and allegations of disenfranchisement during the ongoing electoral phase.

According to Kashmir Media Service, incidents in Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat have come to light, where significant numbers of Muslim voters found their names inexplicably removed from the lists. In Telangana, social activist Syed Qudubuddin Masood and his family were among those affected, leading to a formal complaint against the electoral authorities.

The situation is similar in Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat, where entire communities have reported the disappearance of their electoral rights. These incidents have prompted calls for immediate investigation and rectification by the Election Commission of India to ensure the integrity of the electoral process and uphold democratic values.
