Concerned expressed over plight of Kashmiri detainees

Srinagar, December 08, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Chairman of the Islami Tanzeem-e-Azadi, Abdul Samad Inqalabi, has expressed serious concern over the miserable plight of illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists languishing in different jails of the territory and India.

Abdul Samad Inqalabi in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the detained leaders and activists were being deprived of basic facilities including medical care and hygienic food as per the jail manual due to which their lives were at stake.

He said that the Indian government was not releasing women Hurriyat leaders, Aasiya Andrabi, Fehmeeda Sofi and Naheeda Nasreen, despite the fact that they were suffering from various ailments which was a serious violation of human rights.

He called upon the UN Security Council and international human rights organizations to take cognizance of the killing and illegal arrest of Kashmiri youth and put pressure on India to stop its state terrorism in IIOJK and immediately release all Kashmiri detainees.

Abdul Samad Inqalabi expressed deep sorrow and grief over the demise of Hurriyat leader, Engineer Farooq Ahmad Khan, and paid rich tributes to him. He said that Engineer Farooq had spent a major part of his life in jails and his services for the freedom movement would always be remembered.

Meanwhile, the spokesman of Kashmir Freedom Front in a statement in Srinagar condemned the killing of innocent Kashmiris by Indian troops in fake encounters in IIOJK. He appealed to the world community to hold India accountable for its war crimes in the occupied territory. He said that peace would continue to elude South Asia till the settlement of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations and relevant UN resolutions.
