Concern expressed over Indian NIA’s raids in IIOJK

Srinagar, October 30, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Political Resistance Movement (JKPRM) has expressed serious concern over the repeated raids across the territory by India’s notorious National Investigation Agency (NIA) on the houses of people mostly Hurriyat leaders and members of Jamaat-e-Islami.

JKPRM General Secretary Dr Musaib Ahmad in a statement issued in Srinagar said the raids are aimed at harassing and terrorizing the freedom-loving people of the occupied territory. He said that Hurriyat leaders and activists including APHC Chairman Masarrat Aalam Butt, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Aasiya Andrabi, Dr Abdul Hameed Fayaz, Fehmeeda Sofi, Naheeda Nasreen, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Ayaz Akbar, Pir Saifullah, Raja Merajuddin Kalwal, Farooq Ahmed Dar, Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam, Syed Shahid Yousuf, Syed Shakeel Yousuf, Zahoor Ahmed Watali and other Kashmiris have been detained in different jails of IIOJK and India for the last over four years.

He said that these detainees were being victimized for their political beliefs and their detention was being deliberately prolonged by deferring the hearing of the false cases registered against them. He appealed to the UN and world human rights organizations like Amnesty International to play role in immediate release of the Kashmiri detainees. The JKPRM also paid rich tributes to youth recently martyred by Indian troops in fake encounters and so-called cordon and search operations.
