Islamabad: The 2nd Annual Meeting of the COMSTECH Consortium of Excellence concluded with the adoption of the Islamabad Declaration. The declaration reaffirmed the commitment of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states to collaboration in sectors including science, technology, higher education, and health.
According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, a high-level delegation of Rectors and Vice Chancellors from OIC member countries attended the meeting. The gathering resulted in the signing of over thirty Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), aimed at enhancing cooperation in education, research, and industry.
The visiting delegation commended COMSTECH’s initiatives in support of Palestine. Notably, the provision of five thousand scholarships and research fellowships for Palestinian students and researchers was highlighted. The delegates expressed their support for the rehabilitation and restructuring of Palestine’s education and health sectors.
