Islamabad, In a significant step towards improving healthcare accessibility in remote regions, the Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South (COMSATS) and EZShifa Pvt Ltd have entered into a partnership. This collaboration aims to enhance Telehealth and telemedicine services by leveraging technology, making quality healthcare services accessible and affordable for all.
According to Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in The South, the memorandum of understanding was signed by Ambassador Dr. M. Nafees Zakaria, Executive Director of COMSATS, and Dr. Adnan Siddiquie, Chief Operating Officer of EZShifa. This partnership marks a critical milestone in COMSATS’ effort to bolster its Telehealth program, which has been a flagship initiative since 2001. The collaboration is set to enrich the program with advanced technological solutions for telemedical consultations, thereby extending vital healthcare services to underserved areas.
Furthermore, the agreement lays the foundation for joint ventures in developing technology products, particularly biomedical devices, and encompasses academic and training activities aimed at enhancing the capacity and efficiency of healthcare delivery. COMSATS, an intergovernmental organization comprising 27 developing countries, focuses on promoting science and technology development among its member states. EZShifa, on the other hand, is a health-tech company committed to providing accessible, affordable, and quality primary healthcare.
This partnership represents a strategic alliance between a leading science and technology institution and a pioneering health-tech company, aiming to address the critical need for healthcare services in remote and underserved communities.
