Islamabad: The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Islamabad, Muhammad Jawad Tariq, underscored the critical role of sports in enhancing community policing and fostering social cohesion during a cricket tournament organized by the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Sports Journalists Association.
Attending as the chief guest, DIG Tariq engaged with athletes and attendees, articulating the vital contribution of sporting activities in honing young people’s capabilities and bridging the gap between law enforcement and the community. He highlighted that nurturing sports not only develops youth skills but also strengthens the bond between the police force and the populace.
DIG Tariq elaborated on the notion that community policing serves as a cornerstone for robust social harmony. He posited that through athletic endeavors, positive interactions and mutual confidence between the police and citizens can be cultivated effectively.
Reaffirming the commitment of the Islamabad Police, he stressed the importance of fostering amicable relations with both the community and the media. Eliminating the divide between law enforcement and the public remains a top priority for the police force, he concluded.
