Commonwealth Secretary General Praises Pakistani Resilience in Face of 2022 Floods


Islamabad: In a notable acknowledgment of national fortitude, Commonwealth Secretary General Patricia Scotland lauded the resilience shown by the Pakistani people during the devastating floods of 2022.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during her speech at an event in Islamabad today, Secretary General Scotland recognized Pakistan’s diverse landscape and rich cultural heritage, while also noting its vulnerability to climate change. She described climate change as “the greatest challenge of our time,” pointing out its universal impact and particular threat to younger generations.



She further advocated for the integration of technological innovations, such as Artificial Intelligence, to address not only climate change but other significant global challenges. This emphasis on technology underlines a forward-thinking approach in tackling environmental crises that transcend national borders.
