Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan Spearheads Tariff Rationalization Initiative to Boost Exports


Islamabad: In a strategic move to bolster Pakistan’s export capabilities, Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan chaired a critical meeting focused on tariff rationalization, setting ambitious goals to elevate the nation’s export figures to sixty billion dollars by the 2027-28 fiscal year.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Khan underscored the importance of comprehensive consultations involving experts from both the private and public sectors to ensure the initiative’s success. The meeting led to the formation of three subcommittees, each responsible for delivering detailed recommendations on different facets of tariff rationalization. These insights will be compiled into a report for Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s review, aiming to streamline processes and foster export-led growth.
