Commerce Minister Calls for Greater Business Diversification Among SCO Members


Islamabad: Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal emphasized the need for diversification of business opportunities within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) during his address at the SCO Trade and Investment Conference held in Islamabad. The minister highlighted the importance of cooperation and connectivity in today’s interconnected and globalized world.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Kamal stressed that no regional grouping could afford to operate in isolation given the current global dynamics. He advocated for enhanced interactions and positive relations with regions adjacent to the SCO and beyond to optimize the potential of the organization.



The inclusion of Belarus into the SCO was also a significant point of discussion. Minister Kamal expressed a warm welcome to Belarus, noting its potential positive impact on the organization’s activities. He called for an inclusive approach to foster mutually beneficial interactions, particularly with larger Asian neighbors, suggesting that such relationships could provide win-win opportunities for all member states.



Minister Kamal’s remarks at the conference underscore a strategic push towards greater economic integration and collaboration among SCO members, aiming to harness a broader range of business opportunities across the region.
